The Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School is inspired, initiated and being lovingly nurtured by its Founder Member and Member Trustees. The members are its life and soul, motivation and goal. Under the direct guidance and loving care the school embarked on its mission of moulding young minds from 1998.

"Character Development with Academic Excellence", has been the governing principle of all endeavors in the school. The school at every step, big or small, is guided by the comprehensive educational philosophy of Charity which emphatically advocates "Education should be for life and not for a living".

The Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust is nestled in the deserted hilly areas of the South Sikkim in Sikkim, India. The Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust is an oasis which unfolds its treasure to a fabulous world of knowledge.

The Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust has all the infrastructure and facilities that makes a full fledged Public Secondary School and these are being maintained and updated on regular basis. We have small play section, a vibrant music section and art and craft centre for multifarious creativity. Unparalleled sports facilities- the mid terms trips, treks, mountaineering to develop love for outdoor life etc. Academic growth of Students is our mantra and guiding principle. The list is endless. We do also provide Boarding Facilities. And all these are at very meager fees, just to meet our expenses.

It is important to prepare the children before sending them to a Boarding School. The child should be convinced about the usefulness of Boarding School Life. In our opinion a residential school has many advantages. It inculcates in children an attitude of 'Caring and Sharing' and a sense of independent living, decision making and value for money. It teaches the child the art of self learning and self preparation for the examinations. The child learns to live a Spartan life which makes him tough enabling him to progress without being a slave to materialistic comforts. Living together with other children creates a feeling of brotherhood and helps to develop leadership qualities. Objectives

This school is a fully residential English Medium High School for boys and girls Registered to the Human Resource Development Department, Government of Sikkim vide Registration no 54/S/S/2009. It consists of classes from Pre Nursery to X and forms a vital educational limb of the Good Secondary School. The syllabus and textbooks followed at the school are those prescribed and recommended by the Human Resource Department, Government of Sikkim.

- "What appeals to me is considering the needs of the whole child mind, body, heart and spirit," said Founder Director. "Since the students live here, our staff focuses on helping young people become well-rounded in many areas of life, from academics and healthcare to social skills and spirituality. Just as we expect these things from our students, it also calls staff to set a good example and work on their own well-being too."
- The strategic planning process led to lengthy discussions about the vision shared by each department on campus.

Residential Living

Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School has a unique residential, group-home living program.

Each of the homes on campus has house parents who provide loving care in a safe and stable environment. Children are helped with homework, assigned chores and offered guidance and encouragement to achieve all they can.

School owned and operated by the Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School offers a quality education for children in first through Tenth grades.

Children benefit from the small class sizes and personalized attention. Between the two programs, approximately 200 students are helped each year.

Cultural Awareness

Preserving and sharing the Sikkim culture is core to Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School programs. Appreciation of the culture is infused in the daily life both at school and in the homes. Our Native Sikkim Studies classes focus on local language, culture and traditions. Students have the opportunity to take part in numerous cultural activities such as:

Dance club that teaches traditional Indian dance and songs
Powwow competitions, including our annual powwow held on campus each year
Traditional drum group
Sweat lodges

Religious Education

Though Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School is Gurukul-based, we welcome children of all faiths.

We provide spiritual education through religion classes and for children, offer additional instruction through catechism, Sambhasan, confirmation and other services. At Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School, we firmly believe spiritual awareness and education are the first steps toward healthy, successful living.

Health Care - mind and body

The Healthcare Centre, held on our campus each year, with a part time doctor and two part-time nurses. All childcare workers are trained to deal with minor health problems and have studied basic First Aid and CPR. Each student has a trained and caring family service counsellor who works one-on-one with the student and his or her family. They are always available to assist the student and their family with issues that may arise.

Outreach and Other Programs

The work at Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School isn't confined to the school campus only.

We reach out to local people and communities in a variety of ways:
