Residential Living
Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School has a unique residential, group-home living program.
Each of the homes on campus has houseparents who provide loving care in a safe and stable environment. Children are helped with homework, assigned chores and offered guidance and encouragement to achieve all they can.
School
- School owned and operated by the Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School offers a quality education for children in first through Eighth grades.
- Children benefit from the small class sizes and personalized attention. Between the two programs, approximately 200 students are helped each year.
Cultural Awareness
Preserving and sharing the Sikkim culture is core to Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School programs. Appreciation of the culture is infused in the daily life both at school and in the homes. Our Native Sikkim Studies classes focus on local language, culture and traditions. Students have the opportunity to take part in numerous cultural activities such as:
- Dance club that teaches traditional Indian dance and songs
- Powwow competitions, including our annual powwow held on campus each year
- Traditional drum group
- Sweat lodges
- Cultural trips
- And much more
Environment Awareness
Religious Education
Though Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School is Gurukul-based, we welcome children of all faiths.
We provide spiritual education through religion classes and for children, offer additional instruction through catechism, Sambhasan, confirmation and other services. At Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School, we firmly believe spiritual awareness and education are the first steps toward healthy, successful living.

Health Care - mind and body
The Healthcare Centre,held on our campus each year, with a part time doctor and two part-time nurses.All childcare workers are trained to deal with minor health problems and have studied basic First Aid and CPR. Each student has a trained and caring family service counsellor who works one-on-one with the student and his or her family. They are always available to assist the student and their family with issues that may arise.
Outreach and Other Programs
The work at Greenvale Educational Foundation Trust School isn't confined to the school campus only.
We reach out to local people and communities in a variety of ways:
- - Distribute over free food to orphan children
- - Distribute over free text books to orphan children
- - Distribute over free food to local people in festive season
- - Environment related program like cleaning, plantation, etc.
- - Village cleaning drive
- - Donations to local for celebrations
- - Training of health related programmes
- - Free basic education to women and tribal adult people
